9 Best Vegan Spots in Madrid, Spain

Madrid is a bit of a vegan's paradise. It is a large city with tons of options ranging from traditional Spanish food to doughnuts! Here were some of our top choices during our 1 month stay here.

Pizzi & Dixie

Category: Vegan Restaurant

Type: Table Service - Reservation recommended!

Where: C. de San Vicente Ferrer, 16, 28004 Madrid, Spain

Vibe: Laid Back, greenery

What to Order: Pepperoni pizza with peppers, tiramisu, ferrer rocher cake

If you are going to visit only one restaurant in Madrid, make it this one. The pizza was absolutely incredible and the best vegan pizza we have ever had (besides Marcus Pizze Amore in Paris). It was melty, saucy and the pepperonis were crispy. We even ate here twice! Plus the dessert is perfect, a 10/10 for us.

Vega

Category: Vegan Restaurant

Type: Table Service - Reservation recommended!

Where: C. de la Luna, 9, 28004 Madrid, Spain

Vibe: Laid Back

What to Order: Croquettes, potatoes, pizza, tiramisu

Our airbnb was right above this place which made it really easy to nip down for a bite to eat. We really liked their small plates the most. Also their tiramisu was so good!

Delish Vegan Doughnuts

Category: Vegan Doughnut Shop

Type: Quick Service, Table Seating

Where: Corre. Alta de San Pablo, 12, Local Derecho, 28004 Madrid, Spain

Vibe: Bright cafe

What to Order: Any filled doughnut, cronut

I LOVED these doughnuts so much. They did not skimp on the filling which made me so happy, as I love a good jelly-filled doughnut. So much selection too.

VegAmazing Doughnuts

Category: Vegan Doughnut Shop

Type: Quick Service, some seating inside

Where: C. del Duque de Sesto, 31, 28009 Madrid, Spain

Vibe: Cafe

What to Order: Tiramisu doughnut

This place had the most amazing yeast doughnuts including my favorite - the tiramisu doughnut. The creme on the top tasted and has the right consistency of a tiramisu cake. We went twice!

Mad Mad Vegan

Category: Vegan Restaurant

Type: Table Service

Where: C. de Pelayo, 19, 28004 Madrid, Spain

Vibe: Nice Diner

What to Order: The 'chicken' burger

This place had a typical American diner vibe with their food. They had cauliflower wings, beyond burger tacos and burgers. I would say the food was pretty good but I have had better. The chicken burger was tasty!

La Encomienda

Category: Vegan Restaurant

Type: Table Service - Reservation recommended!

Where: C. de la Encomienda, 19, 28012 Madrid, Spain

Vibe: Upscale

What to Order: Croquettes

This is a mostly organic vegan spot with a pretty lengthy menu. They have different types of cuisines here, but we stuck to the burger, tacos and of course - croquettes. Everything tasted pretty good, but we've definitely had better.

Distrito Vegano

Category: Vegan Restaurant

Type: Table Service - Reservation recommended!

Where: Calle del Conde de Romanones, 10, 28012 Madrid, Spain

Vibe: Laid Back

What to Order: Croquettes, Patatas criollas

This is a classic Spanish restaurant with a vegan twist. Here you can find veganized versions of typical Spanish food, which is awesome! If you aren't prepared for lots of oil, you may not like it here. Everything tasted great but you didn't leave feeling particularly good.

Los Artesanos 1902

Category: Cafe with vegan options

Type: Quick service

Where: C. de San Martín, 2, 28013 Madrid, Spain

Vibe: Cafe

What to Order: Gluten free churros con chocolate

Here you order at the front, find a seat, and they bring the food to you. The churros and chocolate here is actually vegan! Make sure to order the gluten free churros, as they make those fresh - otherwise they serve you churros that have been sitting under a heat lamp.

Chok

Category: Doughnut shop with vegan options

Type: Quick service

Where: C. de Augusto Figueroa, 16, 28004 Madrid, Spain

Vibe: Cafe

What to Order: Kronut

This is a chocolate shop with tons of vegan options and tons of - yup! cronuts. When you arrive just ask for the vegan options and they will walk you through the numerous choices. Everything here is tasty!

Conclusion:

Madrid is definitely a great place for us vegans, and from what I just typed - it looks like a great place for croquettes and doughnuts. 😝
